Dr Shankar Ganesh (m)
Dr Ganesh is a salaried GP at the Practice and holds the following qualifications:
MBBS, DLO, MRCS, MCh(ENT), MRCGP(UK).
Dr Ganesh qualified in India and completed his medical degree at Madurai Medical college. He then pursued his post graduation in the ear, nose and throat speciality at Madras Medical College.
Dr Ganesh came to the UK in 2003 and gained experience in ENT working at James Cook University Hospital for 10 years before moving to general practice in 2017. It was here he completed his training under the Teesside GP Training Scheme, graduating in 2022.
Outside of work Dr Ganesh is a keen sportsman who loves games and a variety of sports. He represented his university basketball team and played cricket in Yarm. He also enjoys yoga to help with his body, mind and soul integration.
Nurse Practitioner
Sister Emma Taylor (f)
Emma is an excellent member of our clinical team. She is a Nurse Practitioner who can assess and/or treat acute conditions such as chest infections, coughs, colds, asthma exacerbations, COPD exacerbations, problems with diabetes, sore throats, ear infections, skin infections etc.
Emma also specialises in Chronic Disease Management and is trained in managing Asthma, COPD and Diabetes.
Nurses
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
Sister Emily Phillips (f)
Emily Phillips is our new practice nurse. She is currently seeing patients for blood tests, blood pressure checks, childhood immunisations, basic injections, wound checks and dressings, ear syringing and smears as well as the first part of annul reviews such as hypertension and diabetes.
Emily is developing her practice nursing skills and is still undergoing training.
Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Julie is our Practice Manager and is responsible for the day to day running of the practice.
Mrs Lindsey Newby (f)
Lindsey is Management Support and assists in the day to day running of the practice.
Mrs Nagina Akhtar (f)
Nagina is the Finance & Contract Manager for our practice and is responsible for the practice income/expenditure.
Miss Lyndsey Crane (f)
Lyndsey is the Office Manager and is responsible for the management of our administration staff.
Administration
We have a dedicated administration team who deal with referrals to hospital, urgent referrals, scanning, results, letters from solicitors, new registrations, temporary residents as well as providing full administrative support to the Clinical Team and the Practice Manager.
Reception
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Please call 0300 3031603 if you need to speak to your health visitor. They work Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and can help advise you on a wide range of issues related to your child.
